Hastings Street Curb Lane Changes Near Gilmore

The City of Burnaby is temporarily modifying parking on two blocks of Hastings Street (4000- and 4100-block) in order to accommodate applications from three restaurants to the City’s Active Sidewalks, Open Businesses program to create outdoor dining space. A total of 12 parking spots have been removed on the north side of Hastings near Gilmore Avenue, the local bus stop at Gilmore has been relocated one block west to Macdonald Avenue and the rapid bus stop has also been moved. In this area, the HOV lane is being moved from the curbside lane to the centre lane. To ensure these changes are not disruptive for other businesses, two new parking spots have been added on Gilmore, and parking restrictions on adjacent side streets have been adjusted to improve turnover.

Broadway Street Improvements

The City of Burnaby is undertaking 2.2 km of upgrades to the existing Broadway Street road cross section, Bainbridge Avenue to Underhill Avenue. Road closures will be in sections as the project progresses. Currently there is a full road closure on Broadway between Camrose Drive and Underhill Avenue. This section of Broadway will be closed until further notice.
