6th Street: park and school access upgrades

The city will be improving sidewalks along 6th St, Reigate Rd to Burris St (sites 1 and 2) and 6th St, Wedgwood St to Mayfield St (site 3). There may be times when access to residential driveways and parking areas will be restricted due to construction. Please expect delays.

  • Site 1 and 2: construction will start late September 2023 and is expected to complete in the spring of 2024.
  • Site 3: construction is expected to start in the spring of 2024 and completed by the fall of 2024.

Please note: our project timeline has been delayed to allow Tsleil-Waututh Nation the opportunity to conduct an Archaeological Overview Assessment. This preliminary study will be undertaken to determine the potential presence of undocumented archaeological sites within the project area. We are working hard to get things back on track and will provide timely updates as we progress.
