The big picture
Big things are happening in Burnaby Recreation. Guided by the Making Life Better: Parks, Recreation and Culture Plan, the City is preparing to open three of the largest recreation centres in the region, creating new spaces for aquatics, sport, fitness, wellness and community connection.
Burnaby Lake Recreation Centre is anticipated to open in late 2027, followed by Cameron Community Centre and Library in early 2028 and Brentwood Community Centre in 2029. With Olympic-sized pools, NHL-sized arenas, rooftop parks and welcoming community spaces, these facilities will give residents more ways to connect, play and be active for years to come.
