Making Life Better: Parks, Recreation and Culture Plan

About this project

We have a new 25-year plan that shapes how Burnaby delivers parks, recreation and cultural services. This long-range plan guides key decisions on delivering core services and planning new facilities and infrastructure. It also helps us meet the needs of the community now and in the future.  

This is a community-led plan, driven by input from Council, the Parks, Recreation and Culture Committee, Host Nations, residents and community groups. Focusing on adaptability, equity and accessibility, it makes sure all community members have access to parks, recreation and cultural opportunities. 

This plan helps Burnaby grow and improve by keeping up with new trends, working together across different teams and checking our progress. It aims to meet the needs of our diverse and growing community, ensuring Burnaby’s parks, recreation and culture continue to enrich everyday life for generations to come.
