The City of Burnaby is excited to announce it has received the 2021 Acquia Engage Award in the category of Leader of the Pack—Public Sector for its newly designed website. The Acquia Engage Award recognizes high-impact digital experiences that demonstrate an advanced level of functionality, integration, performance and user experience.
The City’s new website, launched in August 2021, includes a vibrant, contemporary design with strong visual elements that offers many enhanced user features, streamlined navigation, an improved menu that helps users find the information they need and accomplish tasks more quickly, and a fully responsive design that works on all screen sizes—from desktop monitors to mobile devices. This user-friendly website is the result of feedback from the community and key stakeholders throughout the process.
“We are honoured to receive this international award that recognizes the City for creating a transformative digital user experience,” says Mayor Hurley. “It spotlights our commitment to excellence in communication and engagement with the community.”
“Showcasing the most impressive digital experiences, across industries and geographies, is a highlight of Acquia Engage,” said Lynne Capozzi, Chief Marketing Officer at Acquia. “Each customer’s story demonstrates the impact that creatively designed and thoroughly executed digital experiences can have on customer engagement and organizational performance.”
Acquia empowers the world’s most ambitious brands to create digital customer experiences that matter. With open source Drupal at its core, the Acquia Open DXP enables marketers, developers and IT operations teams at thousands of global organizations to rapidly compose and deploy digital products and services that engage customers, enhance conversions and help businesses stand out.
The redesign of the website is the City’s most recent initiative in its digital transformation. The website can be viewed at Burnaby.ca.
