Nominations have opened for Burnaby’s 2023 Environmental Awards, an annual celebration which recognizes individuals and community groups making significant contributions to the sustainability of Burnaby’s environment.
Nomination packages are considered in two categories of recognition. Environmental Awards recognize large-scale achievements that have a broad community impact. Environmental Stars recognize achievements of a smaller or individual scale that may serve to catalyze larger initiatives and inspire others.
Nominations for both types of awards are open in 6 categories:
- Business stewardship
- Communications
- Community Stewardship
- Green choices
- Planning and development
- Youth
Nominations may be submitted online, or in person at City Hall until March 31, 2023. Recipients of the 2023 awards will be announced at the regular meeting of Council on June 19th, which is during Burnaby’s celebration of Environment Week.
