The City of Burnaby is replacing the concrete floor under the rink at Kensington Arena. As a result, the arena will be closed for the 2023/2024 ice season starting August 21.
While the floor replacement work is underway, Burnaby Lake Arena will remain open to provide the north Burnaby community with continued ice access. Skating lessons, programming and drop-in skating sessions normally held at Kensington Arena will take place at Burnaby Lake Arena located in the Bill Copeland Sports Centre at 3676 Kensington Avenue.
The Kensington Complex building, located at 6159 Curtis Street, will remain open from Monday to Friday, 7:30 am-3:30 pm to provide washroom access to the public.
