The City of Burnaby is reimagining the future of parks, recreation and culture (PRC), and we want your voice to help shape it.
From trails and playgrounds to fitness centres and community events, our new long-range plan, Making Life Better, will guide how we create PRC spaces and services for everyone in Burnaby.
We’re currently reviewing our programs, services and facilities to understand what’s working well and where we can improve. We want to hear from you!
From now to August 24, 2025, share your voice through multiple engagement opportunities:
- Take the online survey or comment on an interactive map:
- Share your PRC experiences at Burnaby.ca/PRCPlan. By completing the survey, you will be entered into a prize draw for a chance to win one of five exciting prizes!
- Join us at pop-up events, including:
- Burnaby Blues + Roots Festival on August 9
- Summer Cinema on August 15
- Parkway Alive at Metrotown Skytrain Station on August 21
- Explore self-guided engagement stations:
- Learn at your own pace with display boards at four Burnaby public library locations and select community centres near you.
This is the first of two phrases of public engagement. The second phase, planned for early 2026, will include what we heard and confirm the direction of the plan before it’s finalized.
The current PRC long-range plan dates back to 1984 and much has changed since then. A new framework is needed to reflect Council priorities, guide investment in new infrastructure and meet the evolving needs of our community.
