We’ve just wrapped up another season of thrilling Halloween events, which drew thousands of community members together for spooktacular celebrations.
This year, Burnaby hosted events for all ages, such as the Central Spark fireworks, Haunted Village, Toonie Skates and celebrations in our recreation facilities. Together, these events attracted over 36,000 attendees highlighting Burnaby’s growing reputation as a premier Halloween destination.
“From major family-friendly festivals to pop up events and late night shows, there is something for everyone during the Burnaby Halloween Festival,” said Mayor Mike Hurley. “It’s a fantastic, month-long showcase of our community spirit – and a great example of what makes Burnaby such a vibrant place to live.”
Event Highlights:
- Central Spark (October 24) at Central Park featured a spectacular fireworks show, lively dance party, spooky entertainment and for the first time, an amazing drone light display. The event attracted more than 20,000 attendees, making it one of the most attended Halloween events in the city.
- Haunted Village (October 22-26) transformed Burnaby Village Museum into a 10-acre haunted site, delighting over 13,000 visitors with spooky displays, activities and entertainment.
- Themed Halloween activities at recreation centres, such as Bonsor’s Big Boo, Eileen Dailly Pool’s Monster Mash, and Rosemary Brown Recreation Centre’s Costume Skate, provided fun and festivities to over 3000 visitors.
The City of Burnaby extends thanks to all the volunteers, sponsors and City staff who made these events possible. Their dedication and hard work ensured a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.
