Be Together at Burnaby Blooms

Last updated: April 10, 2026

Burnaby’s favourite seasonal festival returns on Sunday, May 3, to Deer Lake Park and the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts. Burnaby Blooms is a free, family friendly celebration of art, nature and community—featuring eco art installations, hands on workshops, guided talks and tours, plus live music. Visitors can buy local goods at the artisan market, pick up plants and pottery, and enjoy a variety of food trucks.

Two programs premiere at the festival:

  • Neighbourhood Crows: Art in Motion is a unique collaboration between Still Moon Arts Society and the community, with a co-created performance showcasing feathered costume and avian choreography. Watch the flock come to life at Deer Lake Park’s festival lawn.
  • Coast Salish wool weaving workshop led by Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) weaver and educator Spelexilh Anjeanette Dawson. Participants will learn traditional techniques and create their own woven piece to take home.

The festival features environmental, nature and Indigenous programming, linking creativity with climate awareness and sustainability. The festival takes place rain or shine, from 11 am to 4 pm.
