We are building a new playground and multi-sport court at Lewarne Park to create a fun, accessible and convenient place to play for the Royal Oak neighbourhood’s growing population. The new playground will include accessible play structures, rubber surfacing, new furniture and amenities, and a stroller-friendly paved trike path for children learning to ride a bike. The existing basketball court will be upgraded to a multi-sport court with new fencing and court paint, goal nets for ball hockey, and upgraded basketball hoops.
What's happening now?
The City completed public engagement for the concept plan in early 2026. The final design was informed by community input and received Council approval in July 2026 for construction.
Construction is scheduled for fall 2026, and opening of the new playground and multi-sport court is scheduled for summer 2027.
