Skating

Reservations Required

Advanced reservation and payment is required for ALL activities and programs. Burnaby residents have priority registration and can register in advance of non-residents for programs and activities which are in Webreg. Reserve your time and make payment by:

Kensington Complex has everything you need to enjoy the skating season. Joins us for a skate and a great work out.

What you need to know 

  • No drop-ins. Book online or phone 604-297-4535 to reserve your spot up to 7 days in advance.  
  • Limit of 1 reservation per day.
  • Please arrive on time. If you have not checked in by 10 minutes into the start of your activity time, your spot may be given to someone in the standby line. 
  • No waitlists, but an in-person standby line is available. If someone doesn't show up for their registered spot 10 minutes after the start of the program, their spot may be given to someone waiting on standby. 
  • Public, Toonie and Parent & Tot Skates are limited to 35 people
  • Bring your own pre-filled water bottle. Our water fountains remain closed.
  • Please leave promptly after booking to allow for cleaning for next program  
  • Schedules are subject to change
  • No refunds for reservations once booked

Skating Lessons

Ice skating lessons are offered from October to December on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We will not be offering Gliders and Adapted Skating Lessons at this time. Children ages 2-5 can register in Parent & Tot and children ages 6-12 can register in Blades Skating.

  • A limited number of helmets are available at no charge on a first-come, first-served basis
  • Skate rental is included in admission fees for Toonie Skate and Parent & Tot Skate sessions

Parking

To enter Kensington Complex please use the west side main entrance doors. 

Parking is available on the west side of the complex off of Curtis Street. Parking lot is shared with the Kensington Park Pitch & Putt. Limited street parking is available on Curtis Street.
