Closing March 18 Until Further Notice

Effective Wednesday, March 18, 2020 all City of Burnaby public facilities will be closed until further notice. View list

Refunds will be provided to anyone who has registered for programs affected by the closure of these facilities.

City Hall will remain open, and all other City functions and services will remain operational, including RCMP main detachment and local fire halls.

Kensington Complex has everything you need to enjoy the skating season. Joins us for a skate and a great work out.

    In-line Skating Schedule

    Toonie in-line skating

    Great time and great music! 3 to 1 ratio for children (7 and under) to adults. $2 drop-in fee includes skates and helmet.

    Prices do not include tax. Skate rental is only included in admission fees for Toonie Skate and Parent & Tot Skate & Hockey sessions.

    Bringing a group? Groups of 15 or more wanting to attend public or toonie skating sessions need to provide the arena program coordinator with at least five days’ notice so that appropriate staff levels can be arranged. Contact us »

    Skating Lessons

    Ice skating lessons are offered from September to March on Tuesdays and Thursdays. In-line skating lessons are offered April to June on Mondays and Wednesdays.

    Browse through our skating lessons on WebReg. Select an age category below, and click the category for Sports – Skating. You can filter the lessons by facility using the drop-down Complex selection menu.

    Sport the right gear! A CSA-approved hockey or snow-sports helmet is mandatory for all skate lesson programs. During skating lessons, a parent/guardian is required to stay in the building.

    Lesson Registration

    Skating program participants can only register in one lesson set at a time. You may register your child for the next lesson set only after the completion of the lessons set they are currently registered in. Your child may be withdrawn from a program(s) if registered in more than one lesson set per session. Ways to register »

    Children’s Admission Policy

    Children 7 years of age or younger must be accompanied on the ice by a person 16 years of age or older. The ratio of children to accompanying persons must be no greater than 3 to 1. We do not recommend that parents leave their children under 10 years old unaccompanied at our facility.

Parking is available on the west side of the complex off of Curtis Street. Parking lot is shared with the Kensington Park Pitch & Putt. Limited street parking is available on Curtis Street.
