Supporting and celebrating the 2SLGBTQIA+ community
Burnaby is an inclusive and diverse city that welcomes everyone. We support community initiatives, programs and services that help and celebrate the two-spirited, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersexual, asexual/aromantic/agender, plus (2SLGBTQIA+) community.
We're founding members of the Burnaby Pride Working Group, which organizes Burnaby's annual Pride Street Party and supports 2SLGBTQIA+ events and programming year-round.
The Burnaby School District supports young 2SLGBTQIA+ community members through its safe learning and sexual orientation/gender identity policies.
- 'I Belong' - Community organization Mosaic provides support and programming for 2SLGBTQIA+ newcomers.
- Creating Accessible Neighbourhoods (CAN) - CAN is committed to community education and mobilization on topics including accessibility, disability awareness, poverty and 2SLGBTQIA+.
- Trans Care BC (Provincial Health Services Authority) - Trans Care BC supports the delivery of equitable and accessible care, surgical planning, and peer and community support for trans people across the province.
