City seeks input on Vancouver to SFU Cycling Connection conceptual designs

Last updated: January 29, 2024

The City of Burnaby is seeking input on the proposed conceptual designs for the Frances-Union Bikeway, Burnaby Mountain Parkway and Gaglardi Way, as development continues on the Vancouver to SFU Cycling Connection project.

These designs were developed based on public feedback and technical analysis during the first phase of the project, held throughout the summer 2023. Community members were invited to share their experiences along these routes and provide ideas on how to improve safety and connectivity along this important commuter route.

The next phase of the engagement is now underway and includes an online survey and in-person events. Residents are encouraged to share their feedback by taking our online survey by Sunday, February 25, 2024.

The City will also host pop-up events where residents can learn more from the project team. These events will be held on the following dates and locations:

  • February 14, 11 am-2 pm | SFU, Convocation Mall
  • February 22, 4-7 pm | McGill library
  • February 24, 1-5 pm | McGill library

The Vancouver to SFU Cycling Connection project supports key targets in the City’s Climate Action Framework and Burnaby’s Transportation Plan, Connecting Burnaby
