Cameron Library to move to temporary location this spring

Last updated: February 14, 2024

The Cameron branch of the Burnaby Public Library will be moving to a temporary location this spring, marking an important step in the City of Burnaby’s project to build a new Cameron Community Centre and Library to better serve the needs of our community.

The new temporary library will be located in the City of Lougheed Shopping Centre at 9855 Austin Avenue and will open its doors April 29, 2024. The current library location at 9523 Cameron Street will close on March 29, 2024, to allow time to move materials and set up.

During the Cameron closure March 29-April 28, other Burnaby Public Library locations will remain open. To find one near you, please visit bpl.bc.ca/locations-hours

Having served the community for nearly 40 years, the current Cameron Recreation Complex and Library no longer meets the evolving demands and expectations of the expanding area. We're replacing the aging complex with exciting new facilities designed to meet the growing and changing needs of northeast Burnaby.

Recreation services and programs will continue to be offered at the current location at 9523 Cameron Street through to the completion of the design development stage, anticipated to be mid-2024.
