Last updated: May 21, 2025

The City of Burnaby is proud to support 42 non-profits with over $240,000 in community grants through the latest intake of our Community Grant Program. These grants will support community festivals and non-profit programs and aim to foster community development, inclusion, diversity, and civic engagement.

“We’re proud to support the diverse and dynamic non-profit organizations that enrich our community,” said Mayor Mike Hurley. “These grants are a testament to our commitment to fostering a vibrant and inclusive Burnaby. Together, we can continue to build a city where everyone thrives."

Community grant recipients include the Society to End Homelessness in Burnaby to support their work with outreach resource centres, a neighbourhood pantry, extreme weather response and a mobile shower program. Another recipient is the Nikkei Centre to hold a fundraising golf tournament to support resident and senior community outreach.

Funding will also support 11 community festivals this year. These include the Taste of Manila Festivals, the Canada Bubble Tea Festival, the Chinese Culture Heritage Festival and the Multicultural Art Celebration.

The next intake for grant applications is in the fall, with a submission deadline of September 1, 2025. For more information on the program and how to apply, please visit Burnaby.ca/CommunityGrants
