Concord Pacific returns for the 4th year as Presenting Partner of Canada Day

The Canada Day street party, StreetFest on Central, with presenting partner, Concord Pacific, returns for its fourth edition with MAGIC! as this year's headliner.

“StreetFest on Central has grown into one of the best Canada Day festivals in the region – a celebration of the culture, music, food and community that makes Burnaby such a unique place to live,” said Mayor Mike Hurley. “This year’s festival will feature something for everyone, with awesome activities for kids and fantastic musical acts slated for our mainstage. We can’t wait to welcome you back to StreetFest on Central!”

“Burnaby’s mayor and council have shown great leadership in building community, and we at Concord are excited to be part of this journey. Events that bring families together are essential in nurturing this spirit, and our partnership with the City is key to making it all possible,” said Terry Hui, Concord Pacific President & CEO.

StreetFest on Central will kick off at 6:30 pm, featuring food trucks, family-friendly activities, live performances and a spectacular fireworks finale. The celebration is free to attend.

Canadian performers, including MAGIC!, the two-time Juno-winning reggae fusion band, are scheduled to perform on the mainstage during StreetFest. Active since 2012, MAGIC! has made their mark in pop culture history with the meteoric hit, “Rude” that went number one around the world.

Also taking the mainstage will be Asad Khan + Friends, a captivating Surrey-based artist who blends his Pakistani heritage with contemporary influences, creating a unique sound and showcasing a cinematic production that is awe-inspiring.

The celebration will cap off with a fireworks show at 10:15 pm.

Road closures and alternate transportation methods
Road closures will be in effect along Patterson Avenue as well as Central Boulevard and Beresford Street (between Patterson and Willingdon avenues) to ensure maximum space for visitors.

With Metrotown and Patterson SkyTrain stations nearby, there are plenty of ways to get to the festival. Visitors are encouraged to take transit, cycle or walk. A bike valet will be available at the tennis courts at Patterson and Mayberry. Please leave pets at home. For attendees with a SPARC pass, a drop-off and pick-up area will be located on Olive Avenue, accessed off Kingsway.

Multiple free festivals on Canada Day in Burnaby
While the StreetFest on Central is set for the evening, Canada Day festivities will be taking place throughout Burnaby at Burnaby Village Museum and Edmonds Plaza and Park.
