Businesses invited to join Mayor’s Task Force on Burnaby Economic Growth and Resilience

The City of Burnaby is calling on Burnaby business leaders and entrepreneurs to join the Mayor’s Task Force on Burnaby Economic Growth and Resilience.

The Task Force will engage with the business community to develop innovative, Burnaby-specific strategies to capitalize on Burnaby’s existing strengths and enhance its economic resilience in a rapidly changing global landscape.

“Our community is home to incredible business leaders who have helped build our thriving local economy,” said Mayor Mike Hurley. “Their expertise will be invaluable as part of this Task Force, ensuring we are set up to seize the opportunity in front of us.”

The Task Force will be timed to support and align with key City actions, including the completion of the update to Burnaby’s Official Community Plan (OCP) and the update to the City’s Economic Development Strategy (EDS).

Business Pulse survey extended

As part of the engagement phase, the City of Burnaby Business Pulse Survey has been extended until October 12, 2025. The survey is designed to gather input from the business community on the strengths and challenges of doing business in Burnaby and will help inform the Task Force moving forward.
