Help shape Burnaby’s earthquake resilience strategy

Last updated: October 17, 2025

The City of Burnaby is inviting you to take part in community workshops to help shape B-SAFER—short for Burnaby Strategies and Actions for Earthquake Resilience.

These in-person events will explore earthquake risks and gather your input to guide the development of the City’s resilience strategy. Your feedback will help Burnaby prepare for future seismic events and build a safer, more resilient community.

Everyone is welcome to attend and share their thoughts. Join us:

  • Monday, October 28, 6-7:30 pm, Bonsor Recreation Complex
  • Tuesday, October 29, 6-7:30 pm, Confederation Community Centre

Burnaby is located in a known earthquake zone and B-SAFER responds to the growing need for a coordinated, science-based approach to emergency preparedness. The strategy is part of the City’s Community Safety Plan and is supported by the Province of BC’s Disaster Resilience and Innovation Funding (DRIF) program.
