May 1–31, 2025 (Upper Gallery)

Opening reception: Thursday, April 30, 7-9 pm

The Burnaby Art Gallery is pleased to present this year’s Artist Apprenticeship students in their exhibition, Realizations. Now in its 18th year in collaboration with School District 41, the Artist Apprenticeship program facilitates hands-on learning with artists and art professionals, culminating in an exhibition. Responding to artwork from the City of Burnaby’s Permanent Art Collection and expanding their visual literacy, students have created meaningful artwork that speaks to their interpretation of the theme of ‘transmutation.’

(de)Construction: Arts Alive 2026 and Realizations: Artist Apprenticeship 2026 will have a joint reception on April 30 from 7-9 pm. The exhibitions run from May 1–May 31, 2026.

The Burnaby Art Gallery would like to acknowledge the time and dedication of all participating students, teachers, and career counsellors. These exhibitions are made possible through the generous support of the City of Burnaby, BC Arts Council and the Burnaby School District.
