The City of Burnaby is thrilled to announce the successful conclusion of this year's Summer Stages, Summer Cinema and Sounds Like Summer series. Over the summer, our parks were transformed into venues for live local performances, music and cinema, attracting over 9,000 residents and visitors. Summer Stages featured a diverse lineup of live performances and music along with activities and games for the whole family. Popular performances included Aaron Wong’s Elvis Tribute, Burnaby Lyric Opera and Family Night which featured the Fuga Circus Show and DISCOBABY 1970’s Tribute Show. The popular Summer Cinema series provided families with the opportunity to watch family favourites including The Tiger’s Apprentice, If (with Ryan Reynolds) and Moana 2 under the open sky and opportunities to take photos with costumed characters. Sounds Like Summer performances showcased an array of talented local musicians, bringing live music to parks throughout Burnaby.
The positive feedback received has been overwhelming, with many attendees expressing their appreciation for the quality of performances and the opportunity to engage in cultural experiences within our beautiful park settings.
The City of Burnaby wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the artists, staff, and volunteers who made these events possible, and to the community for their enthusiastic participation. We look forward to continuing this tradition and can't wait to share next summer's program with you all.
All performances, concerts and movie screenings were presented free of charge.
