Celebrate summer with free live performances and movies in Burnaby’s parks

We’ve got great ways for you to be outdoors and celebrate summer with free live entertainment and movie nights in Burnaby’s spectacular parks.

Summer Stages at Confederation Park (by the spray park), starts July 14. Enjoy live performances at lunchtime every Tuesday and Wednesday between 11 am and 2:30 pm. You can also enjoy evening shows every Thursday from 5:30 to 8:30 pm. There will also be lots of fun activities on-site with art sessions and lawn games. Entertainers include: Aaron Wong -- Elvis Tribute Artist, Vancouver Puppet Theatre (presenting Baba Yaga), and the always popular Rhythm Resource with drumming for all ages. Summer Cinema returns this August with an amazing round-up of movies for all ages. Bring a blanket or chair to enjoy outdoor movies at Civic Square and Confederation Park (by the running rack):

  • A Minecraft Movie – Friday, August 14, Civic Square 
  • Bad Guys 2 – Saturday, August 15, Confederation Park 
  • The Wizard of Oz (1939) – Friday, August 21, Civic Square 
  • Zootopia 2 – Saturday, August 22, Confederation Park
  • Superman (2025) – Friday, August 28, Civic Square

Sounds Like Summer brings live music to public parks in Burnaby Thursday and Friday afternoons from August 13 to 21. Listen to Vancouver-based singer/songwriter Rebecca Sichon, upbeat tunes of Patrick Gavigan or soulful melodies by Tiffany Rivera.
