Burnaby residents and regional riders can now experience one of North America’s premier mountain biking destinations as the City of Burnaby officially reopens the Mountain Air Bike Skills Course on Burnaby Mountain.
“When we started this project, residents told us they wanted an incredible facility, built for riders of all ages and abilities to enjoy,” said Mayor Mike Hurley. “The result is a destination that offers something for everyone, from first-time riders to experienced cyclists, and reflects Burnaby's commitment to investing in high-quality recreation opportunities.”
To celebrate the reopening, the City has released a new video featuring world-renowned mountain bikers Nicholi Rogatkin and Kaos Seagrave showcasing the course’s progressive design and range of riding experiences.
Designed and built by internationally recognized pump track specialists Velosolutions, the upgraded facility features more than 850 m of rideable terrain unique to the area, including BMX jump lines, pump tracks, slopestyle features, dirt-jump lines and an enhanced flow trail for riders of all ages and abilities.
“What we’re looking at today is a world-class facility,” said Amadeo Gadotti of Velosolutions. “This is an area where someone can come with beginner-level skills and spend the time to progress into any level of cyclist.”
The final design reflects feedback gathered during public engagement in 2023, where residents and local riders emphasized the need for a facility that supports all ages, abilities and stages of progression.
The course reopens to the public on September 3, 2026, and operates seasonally from April 15 to October 31 each year, from 8 am to dusk.
