Community invited to 2 open houses for fire stations coming to Burnaby Mountain area

The City of Burnaby is enhancing emergency response capacity in the community by building two new fire stations in the Burnaby Mountain area, and is inviting people to come out to two open houses to learn more.

Open House #1: Fire Station 8

What: Burnaby Fire Department now has a temporary fire station in the heart of the UniverCity community. Meet your local firefighters and learn about the new Fire Station 8 that will soon break ground on University Drive.

When: Saturday, January 28, 11 am to 2 pm (A short ceremony with speeches will be at noon)

Open House #2: Fire Station 4

What: At the bottom of Burnaby Mountain, Fire Station 4 on Duthie Avenue is being replaced with a new state-of-the-art facility on Greystone Drive, designed to meet the needs of our growing city. Stop by to learn more.

When: Saturday, February 4, 11 am to 2 pm

Where: Clubhouse at Burnaby Mountain Golf Course, 7600 Halifax Street
