Civic Innovation Lab
The City of Burnaby and Simon Fraser University have come together to create a joint Civic Innovation Lab, combining their expertise and resources in order to find fresh solutions to challenges and issues affecting cities. - In progress
Outdoor Covered Sports Box
The City of Burnaby is replacing the existing open-air lacrosse box and construct a new, covered multisport court for year round use at Confederation Park. - Planned
Kingsway + Edmonds Conceptual Master Plan
The City of Burnaby and BC Housing are working together on a Conceptual Master Plan for the publicly owned land at the southwest corner of Kingsway and Edmonds. - Planned
Lakefield Drive Active Transportation Improvement Project
The City is seeking public input on plans to implement a series of active transportation improvements along Lakefield Drive and 4th Street between Nursery Street and Wedgewood Street. - In progress
North Burnaby Traffic Calming Study
We’re conducting a comprehensive study of the Burnaby Heights/Capitol Hill neighbourhood to identify opportunities to improve travel safety for pedestrians, cyclists and drivers. - In progress
Burnaby Lake Overpass
The City is building a pedestrian-cyclist overpass across Highway 1 to create a critical north-south link between key regional trail networks and destinations within Burnaby. - In progress
Hastings Street Improvement
TransLink and the City of Burnaby are partnering to study street improvements on Hastings Street between Boundary Road and Duthie Avenue. - In progress
Burnaby Food Systems Strategy
The Burnaby Food System Strategy is a strategic plan the City is developing to improve the quality, fairness, and sustainability of Burnaby’s food systems. - Planned

Grosvenor Brentwood Master Plan
The City has approved a Conceptual Master Plan for the 7.9 acre Grosvenor Brentwood site located on the 4600 block of Lougheed Highway, directly south of Brentwood Mall. - Completed
Brentwood West Master Plan
The City has received a proposal to amend the Brentwood Town Centre Development Plan to redevelop the site at Willingdon Avenue between Halifax Street and Lougheed Highway, directly west of Brentwood Mall. - Completed
Extreme Heat Response Review

Willingdon Lands Master Plan
The City has approved a rezoning application to develop a Conceptual Master Plan for the Willingdon Lands site, a 40-acre parcel jointly owned by Musqueam Indian Band, Tsleil-Waututh Nation, and Aquilini Development located at 3405 Willingdon on the southwest corner of Willingdon Avenue and Canada Way. - In progress
BC Parkway Illumination
We’re adding accent lighting to the Burnaby section of BC Parkway to make the route more lively and inviting for everyone, whether you walk or roll, at any time of day. - Planned
Playgrounds
The City of Burnaby is planning to refresh the playground equipment at four neighbourhood parks in 2023 - Burnaby Lake Sports Complex, Eastburn Park, Harbourview Park, and Sumas Park. - In progress
Cameron Community Centre and Library
The City of Burnaby is replacing the Cameron Community Centre and Library with new facilities to better meet the needs of northeast Burnaby’s growing and changing population. - Completed
Still Creek Avenue Active Transportation Improvements
The purpose of this project is to upgrade the active transportation facilities on Still Creek Avenue between Douglas Road to the east and the Burnaby Eco-Centre to the west to improve the safety and experience for pedestrians and cyclists. - Planned
Fire Station #8
The City of Burnaby has identified a potential location for a new fire station on Burnaby Mountain. Fire Station #8 will improve response time and coverage during fire emergencies, ensuring the well-being and safety of the community.
