The City of Burnaby is pleased to announce a new schedule for the 2025 Council meetings, with regular meetings now set to take place on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at 5 pm in the Council Chamber at City Hall.

The City of Burnaby is proud to celebrate one of its most distinguished residents, Michael J. Fox, who was recently awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian honour in the United States.

Effective retroactively from December 2, the living wage has increased from $25.68 per hour to $27.05 (a 5.33% increase), reflecting the rising cost of living in the Metro Vancouver area.

The City has updated the names of a few departments to match the terms used in other Lower Mainland municipalities: Revenue Services (formerly Tax Office), Licensing (formerly Licence Office) and Crime Prevention Services (formerly Crime Prevention Unit).

The City is pleased to participate in the ongoing GST break. During this period, we will not charge GST on qualifying goods and services sold at City-owned establishments.
