Edmonds Town Centre Cycling Network
As part of the City’s Priority Cycling Network that is envisioned in Burnaby’s Transportation Plan, Connecting Burnaby, the City is looking to improve the current cycling network in the Edmonds Town Centre area. - Planned
Outdoor Aquatic Services and Facilities Strategy
We’re conducting a study to explore trends in outdoor aquatics, review fair distribution of outdoor aquatic amenities and plan for future needs as we develop an Outdoor Aquatic Services and Facilities Strategy. - Completed
Greentree Village Park Pilot Community Garden
We have established Burnaby’s first community garden in a City park at Greentree Village Park. This pilot project is launching in partnership with Urban Bounty, a local nonprofit organization dedicated to community food security. - Planned
Covered Outdoor Pool
Considering feedback received from the community, analysis of aquatic needs, and the financial impacts, the covered outdoor pool project has been suspended. - Planned
RCMP New Detachment
The City of Burnaby and the RCMP are working together to build a new detachment at the corner of Ledger Avenue and Norland Avenue. - In progress
Riverway Outdoor Covered Sports Box
This project will upgrade the existing lacrosse box with a new covering to enable the court to be used year-round, with room for covered spectator seating. - Planned
Vancouver to SFU Cycling Connection
We’re improving the Frances-Union Bikeway, Burnaby Mountain Parkway and Gaglardi Way to better connect these routes to key areas, including Simon Fraser University (SFU) and the Union-Adanac Bikeway in Vancouver. - In progress
Non-Market Housing
The City of Burnaby is taking action to create more non-market rental housing in our community. - Planned
Burnaby Housing Authority
The City of Burnaby is proposing a new municipal housing authority to help create more secure, purpose-built housing within Burnaby that would include non-market rental units, non-market ownership units and market rental units. - Planned
Cascade Heights Urban Village Community Plan
The City of Burnaby is developing a new community plan for the Cascade Heights neighbourhood in south Burnaby to shape how this area will redevelop over the mid to long term with a range of opportunities. - In progress
Mayor’s Task Force on Unsheltered Community Members
In Burnaby, our goal is to create a community where homelessness is rare, brief and one time. To achieve this vision, the City launched a Mayor’s Task Force on Unsheltered Community Members in June 2023. - Planned

To provide the best level of customer service to Burnaby residents and businesses, a new City Hall is being planned–a modern, environmentally sustainable, accessible, inclusive and resilient building. - Planned
BC Parkway Enhancement Project
The City is developing a plan to transform the BC Parkway in the Metrotown area into a fully integrated linear park, featuring lively public spaces and opportunities for recreation, commerce and art. - Planned

The City is planning to develop a district energy utility that will provide south Burnaby with safe, reliable, sustainable, resilient and cost-competitive thermal energy. - In progress
